Sundown Sanitary District
Protecting public health and the environment through reliable and safe conveyance, treatment 
and disposal of wastewater in the most cost-effective manner possible, now and into the future.

Sundown Sanitary District provides wastewater conveyance and treatment services to the
River Point housing. River Point is located 3 miles Southeast of Astoria, Oregon between Hwy 
202 and Youngs River. The Sundown Sanitary Sewer District was formed in 1972. The district is located in a residential subdivision created on the site of a WWII Navy hospital site; newer homes were constructed utilizing the original streets, drainage, sanitary sewer connection lines, and the newer treatment infrastructure.

The Sundown Sanitary Sewer District was formed in 1972. The district is located in a residential subdivision created on the site of a WWII Navy hospital site; newer homes were constructed utilizing the original streets, drainage, sanitary sewer connection lines, and the newer treatment infrastructure.

The district is permitted to serve 76-residential customers within River Point and 39-residential units within the adjoining Cavalier Court. Cavalier Court is privately owned and contracts for service with the District. Cavalier Court is located across Highway 202 from River point and is the original location of some of the Navy housing.
